Junior Year

Thinking about my junior year almost coming to an end makes me feel relieved but also sad at the same time. Looking back on this year makes me see that it has been a pretty eventful year. I don’t want to wish my life away or anything but I’m relieved that it is almost over.
My classes have been really stressful this year. I tried to get all my credits in so that my senior year would be easier. Next year I will be at the school for only half a day and my classes won’t be nearly as hard. The only credits I have left are a whole science, a whole English and a half an art. Then I will go to Pro-Rehab for an internship. It is crazy to think that it is almost time to start thinking about my future and start preparing to be an adult. Soon I will have to put money aside for college instead of blowing it all on clothes and I will have to start looking into colleges and applying for scholarships. I don’t feel like I should be that old. Life seems to go by so fast.
This year has had some good highlights though. Being my junior year I got to get my class ring, which I love and wear everyday, and it was junior prom so I got to promenade and attend the dance. Junior prom was one of the most memorable moments of my high school life. I wasn’t so sure it would be fun since high school dances are usually lame, but it was a lot of fun. I had a fun date and a fun promenade partner.
Another thing I am looking forward to in my senior year is going to 2A. I’m hoping to get the state championship title for drill team next year. It is crazy to think that we really do have a good chance of winning it all this next year. Being 3A we always go to state not expecting to take first because there is no way to compete with the bigger schools like Cedar and Canyon View and all of those, but being 2A the only good drill teams are South Sevier and Millard and then unfortunately Manti and Richfield will be coming down with us. I’m hoping our team will realize that we do have a huge chance of taking it and that will be a good incentive to work hard. This year on drill team we didn’t do very well. It was a re-building year and we had a lot of new girls. We also had a girl get kicked off in the middle of competition season and then I blew my knee out in the middle of competition season which put me out for the rest of the year also. We also didn’t know about coaches and who was going to coach us and what they were going to do, but this year we have set coaches and a set plan. Hopefully we can get a bigger team this year with hard working girls.
My junior year ending has me having mixed emotions. It means that my best friend will move far away to college and my boyfriend will leave on his mission. Everyone is leaving me at once. I have hardly any friends that are my age and I’m not very good at making friends. I’m really scared for next year because of that. I’m scared that I will be all alone with no friends. On the other hand, mostly all the girls that I have problems with are a year older, so that means that they will all leave and its not like I hang out with the friends I have now on the weekends anyway so it won’t be too different I guess. I hope that next year I can make new friends. If I don’t, it’s going to be a really long year.
I’m excited to be out of high school. I don’t want to wish my life away or anything but I’m just not really a fan of high school. I’m not popular, I don’t go hang out with friends on the weekends, I just don’t really like high school all that much. I am excited to get out of Emery County and be somewhere where no one knows me and I can have a fresh start with meeting people. That is why I don’t want to go to CEU, I want to get away from Emery County and the people here. I want to be somewhere far away where I can have a fresh start and meet new people.
